While scrolling through the sea of prints and patterns over at Urban Outfitters, this set of disposable silverware came to our attention. We appreciate the small bit of glam they would bring to a picnic or get together. More about them after the jump...
The utensils are made from a tough polycarbonate and are available in 3 colors. They are reusable (if you can keep your guests from tossing them when they are through) and should be hand washed.
We like the idea of having something little bring so much personality to the table and although they aren't as eco-friendly as some, they will still have a place at our tables. Especially since they can be used more than once.
Their website shows them being able to take on a Granny Smith, so hopefully they can handle whatever your entertaining whims throw at them. You can read more about them here.
I have died and gone to heaven.

I think these will be perfect for the office - reuseable, a little dash of glamour for those lean-cuisine-in-front-of-monitor days, and I wouldn't be crushed if a piece or so disappeared.

$20 is ridiculous for plastic utensils. That's a regular set of utensils at Target.

More plastic landfill is something we don't need - just get a set of inexpensive stainless steel for the office or picnics.

Design=cute. Price=not cute. And what's the point of having them for picnics/get-togethers? Seems to me it would be a pain to have to hand wash many, many plastic utensils.

Urban Outfitters politics, no good. Disposable silverware? No good. I'd rather buy (cheaper) fancy silver at a thrift and work up the extra arm muscles carrying the picnic basket.

eating off a plastic is gross

It's UO, they have no conscience. I do love the look, but wish it were something a little more hardwearing and long lasting. I want more than....slightly better than disposable.
