Fortune Placecard Holders

110906fortune.jpgWe have never, ever used placecard holders in our own home, but understand the draw, especially for large dinners with guests that may not know each other. These nickel-plated brass 2" fortune cookies might just be some of the cutest we've seen. Another plus? They're pitched as having multiple uses, such as holding photos and notes.

If you need many because you like having the largest dinner parties possible, the cost may get you:
$38 for a set of 4 (available at Chiasso).

Any great DIY placecard holder ideas out there? Or other good finds?

I just posted this on the L.A. site, but small mix'n match vintage letters make fun place 'cards', and the guests' initials make fun 'party favors' as well.

Placecard holders are also good for using as signs on a buffet table for different types of cheeses, sushi, desserts etc.

DIY ideas... if the setting is somewhat modern stainless binder clips work well.
