In an all-too-early nod to Christmas, we re-watched The Holiday over the weekend. While the movie itself is so-so, the interiors of Kate Winslet and Jude Law's English cottages just pull us right into the holiday feel. How do they do it?

The movie was more entertaining that I had anticipated, but the set and costume designs were definitely my favorite parts.

That stone fireplace looks surprisingly nice. I remember seeing AT posts about how to replace or cover up "ugly" stone fireplaces. Maybe the answer is to just go with it.

I want Cameron Diaz's entire wardrobe from this film! And I want a cottage with a fireplace in the bedroom! OMG, heaven!

Yeah... the movie isn't amazing, but it is pure eye candy. I would own it just to get the warmth that's in it. I love love LOVE the atmosphere of Kate's area. Yummy.

I have a shameful soft spot for Cameron Diaz, but I thought this movie was crap.
However, that cottage was so perfect.

I can't believe they built that cottage just for the film, it's idyllic, I could easily live there but don't know Where on Earth my 'stuff' would live (Kate Winslet's character apparently did a far better job of editing her belongings than I seem to do). I loved the house for Cameron's character as well but my absolute favorite was the one for Jude Law's character... for me that was the perfect blend.

This movie made me angry. Kate Winslet leaves her dog in the care of some non-petsitter stranger as part of the house swap, which was irksome enough. But then Cameron Diaz decides she wants to leave early, go home to LA, just like that she's gonna up and leave. What about the dog??? Even though she didn't go through with it, I held a grudge against her character for the rest of the movie. I could not get over it.
