The Wine Guide and the Wine Guy

Elbert Hatley is Chicago's traveling sommelier and the brains behind The Wine Guide. As "the wine guy," Hatley organizes tastings (and teachings) throughout Chicago and the US.

With over 10 years of experience in importing, distribution and education, he offers his services to novices and experts alike, promising clients a lesson in "wine and wine etiquette without the typical pretentious experience."

Hatley can help with anything from private wine tastings to etiquette seminars to installing a custom wine cellar in your home.

We first discovered the Wine Guide a couple of years ago when we signed up for their newsletter through an art gallery event. Although we've never used their services, it's on our list of things to do.

From September 15th through December 15th, the Wine Guide is giving ladies the chance to schedule a "Girls Night In" (a private party at your home) or a "Girls Night Out" (tasting events at select venues).
