Often times we take the artwork in our homes too seriously. Plus, not many of us that think we could make something for display, but our friends over at Croqzine have us thinking differently with an activity that brings the whole family together! Details on throwing a bash that could turn into an annual event after the jump!
Heather, who heads up Croqzine as well as Dollar Store Crafts (which we covered over at Ohdeedoh) rounded up her family recently and set them all down with assorted blocks of wood.
She gathered acrylic paints, paint brushes, paper plates (to use as individual palettes), and set up tables to give each person in the family a workspace. They also had a couple of big mirrors on hand for people to use for reference. Apparently the men in her family took the longest, no matter what the time spent, we think it's a great collection to have and could be a great family tradition in the works! Read up on Heather's full account of her painting party over at the Croqzine blog.
Thanks Heather!

This is neat.
A while ago, my siblings and I (and a couple of friends) all had a Lionel Ritchie Clay head night. We bought a giant lump of clay and all tried to make our best Lionel Ritchie busts a la the Hello video. We still have a couple.
We need to maybe expand that into Heavily Creatures night and make Clay Mario Lanzas.

Yeah!!! So fun! I have blank walls and limited budget. I am all about hanging my kids art, so why not some amateur art of mine too! I love pops of color on blah walls and this just may be the answer I was looking for.... thanks for the great idea! I'm going to run right out and get this project ready for the weekend!

they remind me of the wall full of paintings of margot in the royal tenenbaums, (and I mean that in a good way).
