2 Landing Strip Accessories by Zoë Mowat

0209_mowat1.jpg Montreal industrial designer Zoë Mowat creates friendly, versatile pieces for the home.

"Zoë has a passion for building things and she strives to create "special" objects that form a connection with the user and leave them challenged, comforted and inspired..."

Two of her designs stood out to us as useful and stylish accessories for the entry. One was designed specifically for the entryway. The other was made as a desk organizer but would serve well as a landing strip organizer, too:

The Hello/Goodbye Stand includes a hanging mirror for quick checks on the way out the door. A small shelf catches keys and other small items as you come in.

The Desk Buddy is a small compartmentalized organizer made to hold pencils, erasers, paperclips. We could see it set on an entry hall table, too, as a catch-all as you come and go.

There's only 3 other "stuff" and they are mostly the same. It is like 2 pair in a hand of poker.

I am challenged, comforted and inspired by the idea of using a meat hook to hold the side mirror from a city bus. There was a step in the design which included consideration for hanging a hat, which was taken away. It's uh, it could use.. what is it, a sculpture? The smurf blue base is challenging, comforting, and inspiring. I want to put my coat on it, but I can't. The small appendage for laying down of belongings is a good place to drop things on the floor and have to bend down and get. The wooden thing is a box. I have seen those before but this one is unique. It's special. It has some quality. Help.
