Midwest Fall Cure: Week Seven - Goes Personal

10-23-07declutteringbedroom1.jpg

4-21-08curelogo.jpg This week the Midwestern Fall Cure goes personal... we're headed to the bedroom (ooh la la!). The one place in our space that should feel like a retreat from the rest of the world, even when the rest of our life is chaotic. Where the smallest things can make the biggest difference and where sometimes we feel the most clueless as how to get things decorated, situated and arranged. Hopefully by the end of the week we will have you in a space that makes you feel so comfortable you are able to fall asleep by counting only a few sheep instead of the whole flock...

heymomo has a great bunch of flowers this week. They take "happy and cheery" to a whole new level!

Weekly Assignment (Deep Treatment): Declutter the bedroom, clean all the surfaces, wash your sheets, and if you have any extra money spend it on upgrades like an air purifier or organic bedding.

Home_For_2 has lined the box for the landing strip with some amazing paper. A great punch of color in an unexpected space.

Weekly Assignment (One-Room Workout): This week is all about cleaning up, which takes a good amount of time. Arrange furniture and lighting, wrangle cords, clean all workspaces, and get your room back into good shape post-painting.

heymomo isn't one for alphabetizing books and took a break from organizing them by size and has arranged them by color. Nice job!

Great Job everyone. It is hard to believe we are so close to the end. Keep up the good work!

I still have some work to do which I think is going to get extended by a few weeks. My hubby and I are going to paint our main room so I think during christmas we are going to do that since we will both be off and it will take more than a weekend to get it done.

oh dear. i just might be a "cure" dropout. so many interruptions this time. maybe i can do a tiny mini-cure. get the equivalent of a GED for curing. *sigh* i'm definitely buying flowers this week & will cook myself a tiny thanksgiving. congrats to all who have done so much work!

I'm down to cleaning and organizing my laundry room and my studio. I think the studio has to wait for Thanksgiving break due to the chemicals etc... (I need childcare to prevent his injury)but the laundry room I want to do in the next 2 days before everyone decends on my house for turkey!

I may have faltered (okay, stopped) at some points during this cure, but I refuse to be a drop out! I was so encouraged by the helpfulness of those who reacted to my discouragement that I've determined not to quit.

So what if it takes me all fall AND winter, instead of just fall? I'll keep puttering away (and adding pictures when I get the chance).

I've started and stopped so many things in my life. I refuse to let this be one of them!

i am not yet at the level of curing (i just moved into my apartment and it's not yet furnished; i considered starting the cure when you guys did, but my own project, building almost everything in it from scratch, is going to take me until probably the spring).

however, congrats to everyone, and i'm so excited to see the results! whenever i look around my living room and get discouraged by the amount of time it's taking/has taken me to reupholster a sofa/build a coffee table/get my life together, the fact that other people are working so hard to make their homes perfect for them gives me such a much-needed sense of inspiration. thanks, at!

also, i used that same paper inside two of my armoire drawers - isn't paper source the best?
