Weekends are a great time to really dig in and tackle the project or set of tasks that you've been putting off. Weekdays can be busy with soccer practice or yoga, meetings and paperwork. But the weekend for most is a time to sit back and really break a sweat fixing up the space we need so badly to be a retreat from our busy lives during the work week. This week on our Midwest Flickr Pool we issued an additional challenge to our participants. Click through to see if it's the boost of motivation you might need to get you going this weekend...
The Midwest Fall Cure Team is over 100 participants strong. We have an army of people tackling clutter and reclaiming parts of their spaces and homes that need a little help. And as we all know, the best part of a large group of people, is the strength and support from such numbers. So this weekend, The Midwest Fall Cure is extending the challenge to snap a few motivational photos of small areas in their spaces.
If you aren't a member of Flickr (it's free if you want to be!) and would like to participate, you can email your photos to: sarahraeat@gmail.com We would be more than happy to post them up for you!
thefarmersdaughter made a $16 piece of fabric into a fantastic art installation that tied the whole dining room together. Nice work!

Everyone's doing such great work!
Basically I didn't get anything done since last Friday (until this evening, when I started on the kitchen). First my mother was ill, then I was a little under the weather while still helping my mother out (she's 87), and I now have some catching up to do!
I've been slowed down on my putting-red-paper-in-the-kitchen-cupboards project -- I was expecting to just waltz into any card store and pick up a roll or two of bright red wrapping paper, but they don't have their Christmas stuff out yet (come on, store people, it's nearly Hallowe'en, where's the Christmas stuff??? j/k) so I have to wait until I can get some paper. In the meantime I'm planning the rearranging of the cupboards, and cleaning what needs to be cleaned in the kitchen.
Not having a digital camera is really frustrating at Cure Time!

I got slowed down with a horrid cold too- 15 days and counting now! But I got the dining room cleaned up, and I cleaned out my closet today and brought down all my winter clothes and purses into the rotation since it's gonna SNOW here this weekend (maybe)
I am really dreading the kitchen this time around- I have a bunch of un finished projects and not a lot of energy to do them....

very_lame: Try packing peanuts (although it is a rather small planter). Or you can carefully drill a hole in the bottom. I've had to do this before to ceramic, and had to get someone to do it for me, because I was scared it would break.
