2 good color tips:
1. Use color visualizers on the computer or at a home improvement store. It helps to see if the colors that you have in mind go together.
2. Don't be afriad to use color, but you need some balance. Use some whites or neutrals so it doesn't feel like you are living at the circus (unlessthat's what your going for.)
2 good color resources:
1. Magazines have great ideas to see how colors look in rooms.
2. Glidden, or home improvement stores
I'm not sure this works, simply because of the color combinations. Whenever I see light blue and yellow I think of "baby-boy" furnishings - the same way light pink recalls "baby-girl". I think the blue or the yellow could stay if it were paired with a different color: perhaps a light green to keep the freshness.
Interesting, whenever I see yellow and blue I think of France.
I don't have anything to say about the color combo because I think in person this is probably nice, but the photos aren't great. It does look happy and the colors are fresh, though not my thing.
Oddly, the first thing I noticed was that the cabinet knobs are crooked and that has nothing to do with a color contest, but I thought fixing that might make a huge difference.
What is that on the wall below the kitchen pass through? It looks like tile.
I like your use of color quite a bit but I think there's just too much stuff. Maybe a nice storage piece would help you contain it all. I like the orange in the eating area and would like to see more of that.
I think Sweden when I see yellow & blue. But this combo is nice. It's sweet. I can dig it. BUT...I think I dig the coral & green on the dining table more and agree that you should start leaning that direction.
hey why you people got a problem with french-swedish boys??? it's a very comfortable, country-looking kitchen. more of a living room style than the anenesthized operating room kitchens you see around this place.
makes me wanna make breakfast, and play games, and wear thick cozy socks. I'd say a 10 on the cozymeter
modfan- I think a light green would have made it look even more like a baby color, you would have to see the blue in person it is a very retro robins egg color, not baby blue
Jackie- We are making a few changes, the knobs are crooked, and do need to be changed, and the pics are not great I agree, but I took them with acmera phone so that should explain the bad quality.
jennie (2)-We do have too much stuff
lindsay-Thank you, we wanted a cozy place to live, the place is less that 500sqf, so we wanted a place to be funky, yet comfortable at the smae time
