Why I use color:"Why else use color, except to make us feel comfortable & happy in our home! It's playful, it's warm, it's quixoticit's us! It stimulates creativity in all areas of our lives. (And it's also pretty awesome when others visit and feel suddenly inspired, too.) With a reaction like that, how could color be anything short of wonderful & amazing?"

2 Good color tips:

"No matter the color, mood lighting goes a long way."

"Be brave! You don't have to follow design trends, just do whatever makes you happy!"

Favorite type and brand of paint:"Brands don't really matter to us, but we do lean towards a "satin" finish on all our walls, which makes for a nice, soft background."

I love the use of color and everything about this home EXCEPT for those strings of lights (I know that's not what is being rated, but come on!). Such a beautiful home is being spoiled by such kitsch. It'll get a good vote from me based onn color though.

I agree about the lights, makes it look kind of college-ish, other than that I really like it! The bedspread it fab!

Love the bold colors selected - and I don't mind the string lights actually, they really make the second picture look amazing, contrasting the blues with the orangey lighting. The bedroom is great too. Love a home that inspires creativity!

Ha, we were afraid of the "college" look when we put up those lights, which is why we chose frosted round bulbs instead of Xmas lights. It really does bring a lovely glow into the room. Come over & check it out!

We do love our home, thank you for noticing. We're young newlyweds, and we love to show our happiness through our surroundings. :)

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your place!! Especially the various colors, lighting effects and how you painted the leaves you have on the couch pillow directly onto your coffee table and walls in several places. In your living room, are those actual paintings or are they flower vases painted on the wall with lighted frames? GREAT use of color, form, (romantic) lighting and space!!!!!
