What inspired you to use color? To improve the flow of my confined spaces and confront my lack of windows. Also I was inspired to give each room a theme color to have separation in the house meanwhile making it blend to match the loft as well. I also like to mix antiques along with modern styles.
Color Tip: I have found that painting the sliding doors in the loft master bedroom created a custom and elegant look for very little cost. It also opened up the room.
Colors Used: Primary colors in the living room...Multiple shades of green in the sitting room. Metallic blues mixed with browns and beiges for the kitchen. Cold blues and beiges for the master bedroom loft.
Welcome, everyone, to our Fourth Annual Fall Colors Sharing & Contest. We're looking for the most beautiful & colorful home in the world and sharing all of the great ideas we get with our readers. This year we're amping things up and hoping to do things better than ever. There are two basic phases, the Sharing Phase and the Voting Phase...
1. Sharing Phase - you comment, judges decide
The 40 best, completed entries will be posted on a daily basis for three weeks. You can view them all at anytime via our new, improved contest pages under ALL ENTRIES. During this time your comments are VERY IMPORTANT as our six judges will be choosing 16 finalists from each region based on comments and their own colorful opinion.
2. Voting Phase - you vote til you drop
Starting October 20th, finalist voting will begin on a daily basis through our new bracketed voting system, which will pit our 16 finalists against one another until only one remains. Sound exciting? We hope so.
Best, Maxwell
I love everything except the beach motif in the bathroom. Kind of cliche. I TOTALLY dig your dining set!!!

I love how you painted in the panels on your closet doors. If I didn't think my landlord would absolutely kill me (I've already painted the walls in really deep colors and took down the "required" vertical blinds!) I would do the same thing! Very fun.

Whoa, you've got way too many pillows on that loveseat! Seriously, there's almost no loveseat left. That may just be a staging trick to add more color to the color contest entry, but it looks pretty silly to me. Nonetheless, I do love all those colors together. It's a bit "nursery school" but also a very happy anchor to the tall, bright space with the narrow window. I'm not a fan of the beachy bathroom, but the closet doors are fantastic! Kudos on a local entry!

Is that a big "pen" behind the t.v.? Where did you get that? I love the dining set and the metal sculptures on the walls in that room too.
