What inspired you to use color? Hum…since we are limited with having to stick with the lovely generic beige wall color our apartment complex chose in the mid 90’s, and the free bonus popcorn walls and ceilings, we just try to do the best we can as far as coloring goes with what we got…things could be worse…with all the “popcorning” going on here, were kinda surprised the floors and doors aren’t popping as well.
Color Tip: Envision.
Welcome, everyone, to our Fourth Annual Fall Colors Sharing & Contest. We're looking for the most beautiful & colorful home in the world and sharing all of the great ideas we get with our readers. This year we're amping things up and hoping to do things better than ever. There are two basic phases, the Sharing Phase and the Voting Phase...
1. Sharing Phase - you comment, judges decide
The 40 best, completed entries will be posted on a daily basis for three weeks. You can view them all at anytime via our new, improved contest pages under ALL ENTRIES. During this time your comments are VERY IMPORTANT as our six judges will be choosing 16 finalists from each region based on comments and their own colorful opinion.
2. Voting Phase - you vote til you drop
Starting October 20th, finalist voting will begin on a daily basis through our new bracketed voting system, which will pit our 16 finalists against one another until only one remains. Sound exciting? We hope so.
Best, Maxwell
WOW! You could have one heck of a party with the huge speakers on the desk. ;) Simple and calming colors though.

I love the poster above the bed, is that a poster or an original work?

very neat looking, colors and rooms relaxing.
i like all your lamps in the kitchen, i have a horrible flourescent something that makes me not want to be there. i think i will try some little lamps too.
love your kitty, looks like my Little Guy.
also would like to hear about the art above bed.

Lovely color choices. The lamps in the kitchen really soften up the room. Great job! Plus, kitty is adorable!

I love the simple, floor-level bed frame- can I ask where that's from?

I didn't even notice the walls were beige until I read it because the colors you use, and the lighting, create such glow. Great job! Add me to the list of people interested in the artwork over the bed.

Wow! Thank you guys for the kind words. To answer some of the questions...All the art in the house is original. The pieces are done by various friends of ours and some by me. The print above the bed is actually a scanned in snippet of a painting I did, the original section that was used for this print is really tinyâ¦about 1 inch X 1 inch. Someone was also asking about the bedâ¦itâs from ikea as is pretty much all our stuff for now ;)

really like the bedroom. great color choices. i'm a huge fan of bedspreads and blankets because they perfectly tailor a bed as opposed to puffy, messy comforters.

other than the bed, it's not super colorful. HOWEVER, i love this post SOOOOOO MUCH! here's why: it's cute, thought out, attainable, approachable... it looks like you enjoy your home. i love that you had the guts to show yourself living in the home.

I am totally swooooning over that shade of green on your bed. You guys have done such a great job I feel threatened, decoratively speaking.
