What inspired you to use color? I find versatility in nature inspiring. For me the color on the walls can appear serene or bold depending on neighboring accessories. I want each room to offer it’s own experience yet transitioning between spaces to be easy on the eyes. Selecting colors of the same weight is the key to creating a smooth transition.

Color Tip: Surround yourself with objects and textures that you love and mix them all together... and like any well seasoned DJ, REMIX. Don’t love it anymore? Paint your furniture, dye your fabric, and acquire some fresh flowers (FYI... Technicolor supermarket flowers are not real flowers, support your local florist or grow your own).

Colors Used: Living Room: Sherman Williams Livable Green, Dining Room / Kitchen: Sherman Williams Take Five & BEHR Candlelight Ivory, Master Bedroom: Sherman Williams Queen Anne’s Lace, Master Bath Room: BEHR Celery, 1970’s Guest Room: BEHR Lemon Whip, 1950’s Guest Room: BEHR Soothing Celadon, Guest Bath Room: BEHR Tuscan Beige, Studio: BEHR Traditional Leather / Custom Color Moms Peach Cobbler... hi mom.

fallcolors1.jpgWelcome, everyone, to our Fourth Annual Fall Colors Sharing & Contest. We're looking for the most beautiful & colorful home in the world and sharing all of the great ideas we get with our readers. This year we're amping things up and hoping to do things better than ever. There are two basic phases, the Sharing Phase and the Voting Phase...

1. Sharing Phase - you comment, judges decide

The 40 best, completed entries will be posted on a daily basis for three weeks. You can view them all at anytime via our new, improved contest pages under ALL ENTRIES. During this time your comments are VERY IMPORTANT as our six judges will be choosing 16 finalists from each region based on comments and their own colorful opinion.

2. Voting Phase - you vote til you drop

Starting October 20th, finalist voting will begin on a daily basis through our new bracketed voting system, which will pit our 16 finalists against one another until only one remains. Sound exciting? We hope so.

Best, Maxwell

I can barely see/determine the colors. I would have never known that living room was green without being told so.

Wonderful! I like that the blue is soothing, but the pops of color keep it from being melancholy. Annnd, I just like a lot of the stuff in your home. Well done.

And I second you on the flowers.

Very spare, but the few things are interesting to look upon. Dining room is fresh and welcoming. I'm seeing a pitcher of lemonade on the table for the next photoshoot. I like the play of the diagonal floor tiles with the yellow chair backs.
