What inspired you to use color? I have always loved color. I like to use color to create moods in my home. I use brighter, vivid colors in the living spaces to create energy and lighter, toned down colors in our bedroom for a more peaceful mood. I tend to use neutrals as the base for my rooms to create balance and depth.
Color Tip: Everything does not have to match.
Welcome, everyone, to our Fourth Annual Fall Colors Sharing & Contest. We're looking for the most beautiful & colorful home in the world and sharing all of the great ideas we get with our readers. This year we're amping things up and hoping to do things better than ever. There are two basic phases, the Sharing Phase and the Voting Phase...
1. Sharing Phase - you comment, judges decide
The 40 best, completed entries will be posted on a daily basis for three weeks. You can view them all at anytime via our new, improved contest pages under ALL ENTRIES. During this time your comments are VERY IMPORTANT as our six judges will be choosing 16 finalists from each region based on comments and their own colorful opinion.
2. Voting Phase - you vote til you drop
Starting October 20th, finalist voting will begin on a daily basis through our new bracketed voting system, which will pit our 16 finalists against one another until only one remains. Sound exciting? We hope so.
Best, Maxwell

George: I dress based on mood.
Jerry: But you essentially always wear the same thing.
George: Seemingly. But, within that basic framework, there are a number of subtle variations, visible only to the trained observer, that reveal the many moods, the many shades, of George Costanza.
Jerry: And what is this?
George: This is morning mist.

Lauren, I think you have a great eye! Somehow that lucious brown color turned a cookie-cutter bathroom into a design statement-stroke of genius to paint the vanity, too! I like how restrained and clean the design and palette is-it seems like a very organized, pleasant, restful environment to come home to!

i don't understand the layout in the bedroom. why is the bed shoved in the corner it seems it would be better on the opposite wall without a window. other than that everyyhing else looks great

Bedroom seems a little empty, but the rest of the place is beautifully done. Very sophisticated color combos - switching between softer neutrals and stronger primaries. Also love the variations in texture and material - the marble tiles, the LR room, and the artwork above the bed.

More orange and green. Oy.
I'm loving the living room, though.

I believe the piece above the bed is a C Jere (or similar) metal sculpture...
...and I agree that the bedroom should be rearranged to face the windows - but I enjoy the rest of the place, especially the bathroom, entry and living rooms

I know this post is old, but Lauren, I would LOVE to see more photos of your place. It looks as though we've chosen the same colors for our new condo and I alter between loving it and having painter's remorse. Do you have any pics on Flikr? Thank you!
