Just this week, we're posting a little extra on the Fall Cure. We've got a lot of folks to welcome, with 37 members (and growing) in our Flickr group. They're over there posting photos and helping one another through the first week of the 8-Step Home Cure. (We pull photos from the group and/or those tagged with "apartmenttherapycurechicago".)

Week One is all about creating a vision for your space. If you're doing the Deep Treatment, you're making lists of repairs, cleaning, decluttering and looking at your home in a new light. If you're doing the One-Room Remedy, you're starting a style tray, setting your budget and gathering inspiration.

(We'd love to see some sheer curtains on those windows!)

Browsing through the comments and photos, we've noticed that there are a few apartment issues popping up across the board.

A lot of you are looking for color. (Perfect timing, since our Fall Color contest will take place soon and provide lots of inspiration.) We'll also be getting deeper into color in Week Three.

Decluttering is another word that keeps coming up. If this is your problem, Week One is the perfect time to start letting go by removing one item (that you don't need or use but still has value) from your apartment.

Many of you also have big changes happening in your lives including newborn babies, career changes and new living arrangements. Thanks so much for sharing your stories and offering help to one another through the Cure. Quoting Maxwell in the book, "Big change is not impossible. It just takes patience."

Last but not least, welcome to our new Cure members smallcitybeth, iamnotaphotographer, mplsjacob, sarasco, tooyellow, AlanInAustin, tcolmsted, VisualGirl, happify, notemily, eferrisha, mavieenrose3, MsMolly, and lolagrinnin!

smallcitybeth, it is a beautiful bedroom! Looking through dmadura's photos and captions tagged with "apartmenttherapycurechicago" it looks like he's doing the Cure to try and bring some more color into his lovely space.

@goodnightdean-those bathroom pictures of the rubber floor are amazing! Where did you get the idea and what kind of rubber floor is it?

thanks for posting our living room pic. curtains, or window dressings of some kind, are definitely on the to do list. as this has been a somewhat challenging space for us to decorate I welcome any suggestions. whatever we add, we don't want to block out too much of the light coming in.

Great apartment. I would not do much more to it. It has a nice clean minimalist look. But not to sparse. Especially love the bedroom. I Where did you buy the bedspread/cover? I have been considering buying the Company Store's quilt in Latte. It looks similar to the one on your bed.
Thanks!

Did my to do list- it's a bit longer than I thought it would be- but I think it can be done- and about 90% can be done without outside help.

But, when doing my list, I came up with an issue that I am not sure can be address during the next 8 weeks. I have 46 chairs and 2 highchairs in my house. I mean, I knew I had a chair "problem"- But 46? Come on. I have to get a handle on this before it really gets out of hand. I am going to blog about this and my cure progress-maybe it will make me re-evaluate their usefullness.

PS I live in less than 1100 SQ Ft. so it's not like I have a McMansion or anything.

Ok, my link isn't working right and of course, I can't edit to fix it.

justonemorechair.blogspot.com is the address. No link till I figure out what went wrong. (my 3 yr old put his finger in my eye and I can't see really well right now- that's my excuse and I'm sticking with it)

46 chairs, lorijo? I'm in awe. Wow. I'm going to trundle over to your blog now...

Oh -- I've added a couple of pics to my flickr, with specific questions... I've created a "During the Cure" set, and they're in there, along with a question that came up for my bedroom while I was sitting in there for 10 minutes of contemplation. I will be blogging in more detail (later tonight??) at http://serenityathome.blogspot.com

dmadura- Thanks for getting back to me about the quilt on your bed. I went to the Crate and barrel website and could not find it. The Plaza bed coverlet in bamboo ( greenish color) looks similar but your quilt looks more light brown in the photos. Could you give me more information? Good luck with all.
