Jeff and Mary set out to make a cool space, but when it came to their door hardware there wasn't anything on the market that was cool enough, or within their price range. So they did what any of us would do... and got busy (no not like that)! Because of their determined efforts, there's a new line of door knobs on the market, that aside from looking great, have a few neat tricks and twists up their sleeve. Click through for details...
ModKnobs come in 4 different styles: Puck, Puck Pivot, Matte, Matte Pivot. Make sure to check out the website to see how the pivot door knobs work. They rotate off center for an extra cool effect (the graphic on their site explains it better than we can!).
The matte choices are made from PaperStone, a durable surface typically used for countertops, made from 100% post-consumer recycled cardboard. On the other hand, the Puck styles are made from a super durable, vulcanized rubber with a hand-friendly “grippy” texture along the rims. No matter which style you choose, each one comes loaded with Baldwin hardware inside. Each doorknob will run you $150, in any style, color or texture. They would be a great way to add an extra or surprise element of design to your spaces!

LOL - they could not find anything in the market they liked within "their price range" :-) any $150 for a door knob is within just any average person's reach???? How silly.
I personally do not like doorknobs, I prefer handles and there are some neat ones out there for less $$$

i love these - they add a burst of color and warmth to a usually cold/metallic design element

you could DIY it with a hockey puck if you wanted.
black, blue, orange and white are easily available.

Anusha- you took the words right out of my mouth!
what kind of price range do they have if they feel $150 door knobs are affordable?!?! i don't see how these are worth anywhere near that price.

Hmm...hefty price tag. Also, I'm not a big fan of colorful knobs.

Actually, $150 isn't bad for a modernist door knob. Check out these...

Hello all. This is Mary from ModKnobs. We’re thrilled with the attention we’re getting on the design circuit and thank you for taking a look. I wanted to take this chance to respond to the comments some have made about our pricing. True: we’re not a bargain doorknob. We’ve chosen to use spendy but superb Baldwin hardware (solid brass, 3 lbs./set). Several of our designs require waterjet and laser cutting. And all of our design, engineering and custom construction is done here in the U.S. We can’t compete with doorknobs mass-produced in Asia. But we can offer a nice alternative for those seeking innovative, contemporary, really well built doorknobs. We also offer a volume discount for orders of three or more sets.
