Flickr Finds: A Birthday Celebration

2006-11-01-dinner.jpg

Nikkomoy tagged photos of the birthday celebration she threw for her mom with "apartmenttherapychicago", which means we are all invited. A big part of the cure encourages you to share your space with others...we love to see how you entertain in your home.

Another shot of the table setting (and somebody snoozing in a basket).

Kitchen decor. Nikkomoy says: My dad brought wine back from China called the Great Wall. Honestly, wine is not China's forte, but I re-used the nice box it came in.

The Hallway. We like the frames lined up on the floor as well as hung on the wall.

Last but not least, the birthday cake: For Nikkomoy's Mom it was an almond cheesecake topped with a sour cream & triple berry sauce. Yum.

I love this space - spare, woody, light, bright. Great cactus box. Are those windows on two walls by the table in the first shot? What's covering them?

House tour?

What is the art on the wall to the right of the windows? I'm intrigued.

Where did you find this mansion? The closets are as big as my apartment.

I agree with Pixie. This place is lovely and so serene. I want a tour too!

I love the large art piece in the dining area. What is it and where did you get it?

Thanks for the comments peoples!

Those are windows in the first photo. I really like to enhance the natural day light by hanging panels that are white, simple and semi-sheer.

The vertical window on the left has a curtain from Ikea, called Enje.

The horizontal set of windows is covered with a textured paper-like fabric, that is literally *tacked onto the wall to form an immovable sheer panel remenicient of Japanese rice paper screens. The panel was also purchased from Ikea.

The art peice hung on the wall is my own personal creation~ I am glad it is liked!

House Tour -maybe soon.

Thanks!

The space looks great!

Where did you get the lamp that arcs over the dining table? I've been looking for a lamp like this, but have only been able to find the much larger arco floor lamp.

Where did you get that lovely lamp?

I scored the lamp when helping a friend move a couch purchased from craigslist.org.
