Thanks to Kathryn, whose living room was featured alongside our
Q&A in Time Out last week, for posting her
new Charles couch covers (and tagging the photo in flickr with
apartmenttherapychicago). We loved the room and color scheme before, but think the new lighter brown really warms everything up and helps differentiate the great couch from the dark brown coffee table. Beautiful choice, Kathryn! ("Before" pic below:)
Yum Yum!
Wow! What a surprise to see this featured!
What happened was that the original upholstery had a flaw that looked like a run or snag in the fabric. I pointed it out to Luminaire (via Flickr photos). It turned out that the fabric had been discontinued, so I was able to pick out something entirely new.
Awesome customer service from both Luminaire and B&B Italia!!
This is just lovely. The color scheme and furniture layout is awesome. Amazing...
I liked the chocolate, but I like this lighter color better.
The couch looks wonderful, I love that color - it's still warm but the contrast with all of the dark wood pieces is really lovely. Good customer service is so hard to find these days. This positive experience makes me feel completely comfortable doing business with Luminaire. Now I just need the money, haha :)
i have to say ive been stalking this apartment since i saw it on AT! i loooove it! the colors are just awesome..and the style is sooo modern yet comfortable...
thank you for featuring her...her place looks marvelousO!!! i want to be like Kathryn when i grow up!
Kathryn, you loft shows an amazing use of color: elegant, vibrant and restrained all at the same time. This place is MUCH BETTER than any of the I've Got Color Entries so far!
Am i the only one who liked the chocolate brown better?
But great for you that they paid for the change!
sassy,
my boyfriend actually prefers the chocolate brown, too. he thinks it was softer and more comfortable.
I remember this space from before also and I am having the same reaction. Great closeup pic but then I see the wide shot with the couch blocking the fireplace and it ruins it for me.
Sophisticated use of color. This should be a write-in candidate for the current contest!!!
I like the lighter brown. I'm suprised what a difference it makes. Though I do with the photos were of the same shot/comp. The angle does make a difference so it isn't so side, by side.
This is a really attractive room, I agree about blocking the fireplace though, I'd want to turn the couch 1/4 turn to the left so it centered around the fireplace and had the bookshelves behind it. But that's just based on what I can see. Love the light and colors in the room though.
The light brown looks lovely, but I liked the chocolate brown better because the chocolate provided a nice contrast to the light brown / redish exposed brick behind the sofa and the olive green rug. What a fabulous room.
