We're in the process (unfortunately it has been a lonnng process) of creating a new headboard. Going through fabric, felt, flat and 3-d ideas, we've yet to put any one idea into action.
In the meantime we spotted Mental Jewelry on flickr. Mental Jewelry remarks, "This is the crafty-est I've gotten. I made this upholstered headboard out of particle board, HD foam, batting, and fabric scraps. I think the sexiest part is the sewing job I pulled off on that stripe."
If you'd like to share photos with AT Chicago just tag your flickr pix with "apartmenttherapychicago". We'll be searching by that tag and pulling our favorites for front page posts.
I actually really like the quilt - where did that come from?
So great!! I'm on the headboard fence, and this almost pushes me over! And I love the coordinating lamp shade too. Assuming you made that as well, any tips are appreciated!
I just got the same quilt for my little girl's room at Bed, Bath and Beyond.

Sarah is correct, I got the quilt from Bed, Bath, & Beyond. It's by Suite109. I didn't make the lampshade, it was a Target find. I expect it'd be easy to make with a plain shade and spray-on adhesive.
Man, I'm on the hunt for some good lamp shades, and unfortunately, Target's current stock is lacking. Making one may be the best option. Thanks for the info and the pics of the nice room!
