Robin's apartment is so lovely! Beautiful light, an interesting mix of vintage/new and fantastic colors.
She also has a cool blog to go along with her cool digs - check it out: rawbin.blogspot.com.

I love the colors....
I think this apartment is adorable!! The decor really highlights the architectural features of the apartment and I love those black leather chairs in the living room. Really well done!!
Wow! I about fell out of my chair when I saw my apartment on AT this morning! I'm giddy with excitement - thank you so much! The lemony pillowcases are actually thrifted and are two of my favorite things. They are Martex and must be from the 70's.
Robin!
Beautiful apartment! I see that you linked to your blog. I can add the link into the post if you'd like...
Yes?
Oh, and thanks again for tagging your photos!
Janel - that would be swell! Thank you again for making my day!
Robin- love the apartment. Is the map on the wall one of those old "school" maps that roll up?
Great space--I love the colors! Especially the juxtaposition of the cool, minty blue-green and the sand in the fifth photo. Can you post the color names if you remember them? I want to start a journal of color pairings for future reference! Thanks, Robin!
Love that painting above the bed - where's that from?
I love the fireplace nook!! Great choice in wall colors and love the art on the walls. Especially the one above the bed and the horses!
Love the use of color; the blue chairs look great, and the painting over the bed is wonderful. What a pleasant place to come home to!
The only thing that bugged me about your place, Robin, were the jumble of books. Not that you have too many (is there such a thing as too many books) but, IMHO, they need to be organized just a bit better. Otherwise, I'm totally jealous!
Robin - I am about to repaint my entire NYC apt. and you have perfectly executed all of the colors that have been floating around in my head! Any chance you could let me know the brand and color names of the beige and the blue in the living room area and the pink in your bedroom...it is exactly what I have been looking for!
Hi Robin,
I love you place. I am having an issue with a dining room table. My table is Oak and I don't want to look to stuffy with all this wood in my apartment. I have been looking for contrasting chairs to liven the area a bit. Where did you get those blue chairs? They might work well for me. Any other suggestions on chairs for a dining table? Thanks!
those look like ikea folding chairs to me, but i could be wrong...
Thank you to everyone for your encouraging comments! Anne - I am totally with you on the books. It is a major issue in our home, as my boyf is getting his MFA in Poetry and continually brings more and more books into the house. I've been looking for another bookcase for a while now but you've inspired me to do a little arranging. Also have to hide the cord peeking out from the credenza! :)
To answer questions:
1. The map is an old school roll-up that my lovely friend Kate scored for me on Ebay after I lusted over one in the window of Scout. The owner wouldn't sell it to me on the roll, he was going to remove it from the roll and frame it. I personally prefer the roll but thats just me.
2. The colors I used in the living room & nook were Martha Stewart colors. The name of the latte color is Stoneware. I think the name of the minty color was something like Kitchen Glass. The pink in the bedroom is Sweet Blush by Glidden (bought at Home Depot)
3. The painting above the bed was done by my boyfriend Ian. He will be pleased to know that people responded to it!
4. The chairs in the dining area are $10 each from Ikea and come in a bunch of colors. I like how they reflect on the glass table and make it look like a swimming pool.
Thanks again everyone!
A poet and a painter?!! You sure scored!
Hi Robin -
I love your aesthetics and color palette - it feels so open and airy, but with lots of interesting details. I love the dining room especially! Really nice - thanks for sharing,
Victoria
I know this sounds nutty, but if you arrange your books by spine color it looks cleaner, AND I remember things visually, so I'm always able to find the spine of the book I'm looking for. Works for me and my OCD. That rhymes!
Victoria - that is a great idea! And, I must admit I did score with the poet/painter. :)
Robin - Now that's a happy space! Great job. I agree with everyone that posted about the books. Once you get them under control, I think your home will be complete.
Annette - Robin's chairs are so cute, but since you asked for ideas, I love the Oh Chair designed by Karim Rasid. The marine or polar blue looks stunning with a wood table and I love how they are open so lots of light passes through them and keeps the space light around the solid wood table. They are also only $49.99 each!

Lovely space!
For those who want a similar schoolhouse map, they're called Denoyer maps. If you do an eBay search, you can usually find several, including ones on rolls. I've seen them used as windowshades somewhere (O at Home?)

Actually your house and mine are not dissimilar, somehow. I feel like I could move in and be very happy.
Lovely lovely.

Robin, just chiming in to say that personally, I love the clutter of books! My BF and I are bibliophiles, too. Books, to me, are a security blanket! Your space is so clean and clutter free, that the contrasting book-overflow gives your space a lovely lived-in feeling. I vote that you find an adorable bookshelf for those books currently living on your desk (with such an awesome desk chair!), and then place them in there any which way.
You really do have a wonderful space.

Hi Robin,
I was wondering if you could tell me where you purchased your bookcase in the living room (below the map). Many thanks.

Robin, I adore your apartment. It is everything I want my home to be! In fact, I live in Chicago and my bf and I just moved in to our first place together which is a bit awkward spacially, so if you want to help us decorate... :)
I would really love to know where you got your kitchen island, though. We are desperately looking for some extra storage/counter space for our galley kitchen and that looks perfect!! Thanks!
