Sfduchamp got a lot of AT readers talking about more than his
Craigslist finds. After sharing a mini tour of his home in the comments section of that post, we thought it deserved the spotlight on AT: Chicago today. Enrique, Christina, and Laura love the DWR chair, the teak buffet and the bird prints, while we can't stop looking at the vintage etching press and all that streaming light. Thanks for sharing, sfduchamp!

Must know where those bird prints came from! They are terrific.
Also love the low console...
Sources?
Leslie, my wife, painted the series of bird silhouettes last year. I love them too!
The credenza was an ebay find. We had to rent a truck to pick it up in Cincinnati, but at a price of $200, we thought it was worth the trip.
where is your place in the city? Love the high ceilings and BIG windows.
your place is beautiful!!!
are you in that new development on broadway near the uptown theatre? my old roommate bought a place in that building and the view looks very very familiar.
Thank you! As artists, we really feel fortunate that we found a space with so much light.
Yes, we just bought our place in Uptown in June, and are still getting settled. There's so much we want to do that we don't know where to start. It's a great deco building that was completely gutted and renovated. Most of the units are duplexes, but we traded the second floor (that most of the units have) for all the light and high ceilings.
Are there any birds left in the series, per chance?
I'm a single Mom on a tight budget (I only work part-time), but have fallen in love with Leslie's work...
Is there a link somewhere to her portfolio?
Does Leslie have art available for purchase? Online, perchance?
The trade for the light was totally worth it! God I wish my studio space was that sunny. I just love your windows.
I love your apartment.
I have similar cabinets and flooring as in your kitchen and I curious to know what you used for a back splash?
Thanks MM!
Our backsplash is just about 5 inches of granite (the same as our counter top). When we retile the fireplace surround, we may use the same tile for a higher backsplash behind the sink.
Everyone, thanks for all of your kind comments about our new place!
That's beautiful. I'm totally jealous.
But the ottoman in the living room - it doesn't match anything. It's really gotta be recovered or else sent down the road, if you know what I mean.
I too love those birds. If Leslie isn't selling her's, I saw some similar to them at Lavish on Hayes St. in San Francisco.
I was going to post about Lavish anyhow, so I posted it on my blog tonight so you can see the other bird paintings I was referring to. Of course, if Leslie is willing to paint more, I'm sure quite a few of us would like to grab a few!

The apartment is nice - high ceilings and new reno but the decorating could use a bit of work. The chairs just do not go with the table and the apartment feels quite cold. the big mirror is not positioned right. The bookcase looks a bit right out of college like. Just suggestions, that's how we are in new york. overall, i like your place. you should be proud.
I'd like to know more about the art, Leslie's art....
source for the lamp??
I think I have to disagree with the ottoman remark. I think the fabric picks up on the colors of the artwork from both walls beautifully (over the three shelving units and on the brick wall), in addition to looking great against the exposed brick.
Ditto on Leslie's artwork, does she have a site, pretty please?
