apartment therapy changing the world, one room at a time

Flickr Finds: Mini tour from supershoppertoo

Color and sunshine! Supershoppertoo has tagged some excellent photos of a home bursting with both. The clear, bright colors run throughout supershoppertoo's sunny space, a home which we'd love to hear more about. We really like the windows everywhere and the balance between the exposed brick and the high energy color palette that celebrates and updates the (mid-century?) building.

Supershoppertoo says that the room pictured above is a sunroom, made over into a party/gathering room.

Did she leave anything else for the other IKEA shoppers to buy?

Love it! I can't help but think I've seen this before, though. Did they write in to AT:NY with a question on window treatments? I recognize those lamps in the corner by the couch (it's a great look).

I was excited to see the exact light fixture we're thinking of putting in our bathroom in their blue half-bath. Looks great!!

I think they've done a nice job on the place and it isn't too Ikea-ish for me at all! That little party room is so cute. I wonder where this house is located -- looks like a neat area with a backyard and everything.

I found it! Also love the part where they actually switch out their decor for the seasons - there's a nice shot of the falls scheme in the link in my name.

Supershopper:
Can you tell us more about the living room artwork and the bedding in the second bedroom on flicker (the one with the red coverlet)?

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the pillows on the bed- where did you get them from?

Mama Chilanga-
I think the artwork above the couch is from Ikea- it's a triptych that you buy as a whole. White orchids. You can't get much sexier, cooler or more beautiful than orchids.

Those colors...WOW!!!

Someone loves IKEA ;-)

Wow! How big is this space? It's beautiful! Contact me at nicole@brainbox.tv if you'd like to be featured on HGTV's Small Space, Big Style

I love your use of color in your home. It is lovely. I really like what you did to work with the (I'm assuming original) bathroom tile. It looks fresh and fantatstic when it so easily could have been drab and dated. Bravo!

I also like your creative use of Ikea. It's so easy to look like a dormroom when using it, but you successfully avoided it.

what a beautiful, natural sense of color. I love the palette in the bathroom and bedroom -- nice places to wake up and rest! Good work.

Thanks every1 for your compliments. I guess it's pretty obvious that I love color and IKEA.
I lke other stores too but as for right now I have a limited budget for furniture and there aren't many style/budget alternatives out there.

My home is a 1959 brick rancher in Newport News, VA. Unfortunately, Nicole, the house is 2200 sqft(hence the IKEA budget). But I love that show and would have loved to feature my home.

Atahalie, the the ocean blue shams on the bed are from West elm and the leaf throw pillow is just two napkins from Crate and Barrel that were sewn together.

Mama Chilanga, the red quilt is from T.J. Maxx and the black and white bedding from Target.

Great dectective work Devon!!!

You really have to see the before pictures to really appreciate the after.

I will post them to my flicker page later...check them out.

Thanks Again.

Does anyone know where I can find that beautiful blue, green, brown and taupe floral on white pillow on the bed? I have fallen in love with it!

Bostongal:
That pillow was made from two "Vinca" napkins that I purchased from Crate & Barrel this Spring.
It took three trips to C&B to get them because they were always sold out. I don't see them on there website anymore either. I'd keep a look out on ebay.

did you get those benches on the second picture at Ikea? I can't find them on their website. Do you know if they are still available?
