Yuuuuuuuko tagged some photos to share. From the comments on Yuuuuuuuko's pix, we know this reader is a renter who loves color and uses art to splash some onto the white walls. There is so much of Yuuuuuuuko's creativity and diy skill on display here, from the felt wall hangings to the silkscreened fabric for the duvet cover and the nightstand (first piece of furniture-making ever attempted!).

Yuuuuuuuko said this is a silkscreen poster of their "dream house".
Our favorite bits of Yuuuuuuuko's place: the blue blossom felt wall hanging, the red thrift store lamp under the pear tree artwork and the handmade bedding.
Thanks very much, Yuuuuuuuko!

the dresser is hand me down from friend. he said he got it from poetry barn around year 2000. I don't know if they still make it or not.
Love it! So colorful and cute and fun. I really like the pear art and the felt piece too (by looking at it, it doesn't look like felt at all!). With all the talk of art, I'd like to know where she came upon these pieces -- or did she make them herself?
DUH, I can read. I see she did make the art. I'm smitten. Like another commenter, I'd like some tips on how to make something like this too! So sweet!

If you are out there...we like your wall hangings! How did you make them?
(and thanks again for tagging the pictures!)
Hi!
strange (in good way) feeling to see my pics acutually on AT chicago!! exciting!
Thank you so much Janel and Devon for liking my art works.
about Wall hungings, I chose felt because it has warm feeling and easy to sew with. I drew images that i want on felt and cut them and sew on to felt (I used sewing machine) and stretched them on frame. I chose chery blossom for the big piece to feel my home Tokyo,Japan.
anyway, Thanks for sweet comments!
P.S. sorry about my bad English.
Thanks for the info, yuuuuuuuko! It's such a great idea for personalized art and you did such a nice job. I like the warm feeling of felt too. I might have a new weekend project! :)
I'm fascinated by the fact that you MADE that great little bedsidetable. Its so cute! I also love the contrast of the two types of wood. How on earth did you do it?
Seriously, you should make and SELL those bedsidetables. That is fantastic. And yeah... maybe someone else could DIY them, but since you obviously did it SO WELL you should do them and sell them.
YUUUUUKO (Do i have enough U s?) Did you make the duvet and pillow cases too! Love. It says in the caption silkscreen. How's you do that? Thanks for the DIY tips. Stacie
thanks rachel and curtis! I spend so many hours on it. just sanding took me 2 whole days with sore arms! but it was all worth it. :)
hi stacy. I'm graphic designer (jobless in chicago) and spent so many hours on computer when I was in japan, so when I moved to chicago last year and have more free time I wanted to make something other than on screen. so I took a silkscreen class, and I've been printing!! the one on the pic is my favorite.
I love the simple dresser. Where did you find it, if you don't mind my asking?
yuko, i wish these were for sale! the beside table is especially pretty. thx for sharing.
