Anyone have any info about Hotel Indigo? We see there is another on Dearborn in the Gold Coast - perhaps it's good place to keep in mind for friends coming to town. Let us know...
(Thanks to Ms. Molly for tagging her flickr photo with "apartmenttherapychicago"!)
Hey, thanks for using my picture! I just put up a second one so you can see the other room I stayed in. This one used bits of blue glass as the wallpaper: http://www.flickr.com/photos/msmolly/391220603/
My review of the Hotel Indigo would be that it was definitely worth what I paid for it $30/night through Priceline), but I wouldn't consider it worth it at their rack rates (something like $100). I stayed in two different rooms while doing a period of consulting at a business in Des Plaines, and they were both nice, but the second time I checked in I had to ask to be switched to a different room twice. I was going to be there for 9 nights and they gave me a room across from the (noisy) ice machine and then switched me to a room with a connecting door, so I could hear the argument my neighbors had at 3AM. I felt like a jerk for asking to switch more than once, but they were very polite, and the rooms without the connecting doors are lovely and quiet. There's a nice pool and exercise room, Aveda soaps and shampoos in the rooms, and the decor is very soothing. I'd categorize it as nicer than a Holiday Inn or Best Western, but not as nice as a Westin or Marriott. The food options in the hotel are slim to none. (They have some kind of cafe, but I never saw it open for anything but breakfast.) The laundry room is gross, but useable in a pinch. I found it pretty comfortable for the couple of weeks that I stayed there, and I love the feel of the rooms, but if you expect the service and amenities of a really swank hotel I think you might be a little disappointed.
Generally one sleeps in the dark with their eyes closed, what does it matter the color of the room?
How would someone go about recreating the wall paper? For possibly a bathroom?
Here's a pic from a room in the Hotel Indigo in downtown Chicago . . . less scary (in my opinion) than the blueberry wall!
Oops, forgot to post the pic:
Argh! It won't let me post the pic! Well, here's a link to a blog entry that includes the pic. Sorry for cluttering up the comments section!
