apartment therapy changing the world, one room at a time

Flickr Finds: Nanoo Eam Assila's Graphic Bedroom

graphic091608.jpgFound tagged with "apartmenttherapychicago", a great-looking graphic statement of a room. It's black and white, with touches of brown and orange, but this space is less about the color and ALL about the pattern. Another shot below:

According to Nanoo's flickr titles, it is a fabric wall, nicely executed to give the visual pow of wallpaper, without the commitment. The artwork hanging over the bed is also framed fabric, from IKEA.

We think the chevron-patterned bedspread is a good touch, taking the idea to another level and adding in a retro-ish seventies vibe.

And, we're so glad that the second photo was included - the wall of silhouettes is a nice counterpoint to the rest of the room, sticking with the black and white graphic look in yet another way.

More to like: the mix of nightstands, the ornate frames, varied size and shape of the artwork and the hanging bedside lamp.

Thanks to Nanoo Eam Assila for sharing your style with AT:Chicago!

I like it but I wouldn't do it. Maybe I need to be more brave.

Gee, I thought I had a lot of pattern in my bedroom, but not like this.

To each their own, of course, but this reminds me of nothing so much as those noisy, hidden number tests for color blindness.

This doesn't give me the feeling I like to have in the bedroom.

Just because everything in the room is black, white, beige, and tan doesn't mean it goes together. It's awful ... there isn't one thing that complements another!

I should add that I often see things on AT that are not my taste but are spectacular (like Betsey Johnson's dining room). This is not one of them!

As someone with a fast mind (or, as you regular people call it, "ADD"), I really appreciate this.

My eyes! My eyes!! The migraine caused by this test pattern hurts worse than the one caused by that Color IQ test!

Is this room part of the ANTI interior look?

I don't mind the patterns so much, but that black frame is completely lost on the back and white patterned wall. It needs to be another color, and those frames aren't hard to spay paint--I painted one orange myself.

This makes me queasy. Jarring, unlivable space... for me, at least. I want a bedroom to feel safe, or warm, or peaceful, or cozy, or some combination of these qualities. This bedroom is none of them.

no no no.

if you're going to get that crazy with pattern, everything else has to be calming to the eye. the mismatched bedside tables and the lights at different levels just add to the visual chaos and it just comes across as a mess.

An interesting look, but not to my taste. Even with the lights off, I'm afraid all that pattern would keep me awake.

my only problem is the loud wall-fabric. otherwise, love love LOVE the mix of mis-matching things!

That bedspread makes me want to throw up. A nice tough of red or orange would have been better....but that bedspread? i think i just frew up in my mouf a little.

i like the wall, but the rest of it is just a huge clash in my not really humble opinion :-D just an example how one man's nightingale is the other man's owl ...

It's interesting....what ruins it for me is that damask-like pattern on the pillows with that chevron striped bedspread.

It's bold and experimental, they get credit for that!
