Flickr Finds: Parchment Paper Makeover

021009-parchmentpaper.jpg Taking a cue from Ashley's $12 Pendant Lamp Makeover, Katie from Chicago, brought new life to a lamp that had seen better days. This makeover ran her less than $5, click through to see how!

Katie used a roll and a half of parchment paper and we're assuming scotch tape as well. After a few hours of cutting out petals to tape on, it looks flounce-y and bouncy and we love it! It's romantic and modern and best of all, reused something that otherwise would have been donated or discarded.

Nice job Katie! Thanks for sharing!

I like this one even better than the other one. Does anyone else have diy lamp makeovers? I made a couple in art school I am thinking of redoing for fun.

This is so great, I love it! I have a serious lamp addiction lately, and I'm scheming of a way to do something like this :o)

Do you think this would work with colored tissue paper? To thin and fragile?

I wonder what kind of lamp Katie used? I like this lamp more than Ashley's!

im working on my own version of this right now! LovieDud, this would definitely work with colored tissue paper. It would look really awesome actually. It doesn't matter how thin the paper is as long as you go crazy with layers. cute! and fun to do while sitting around watching bad tv ....

Okay, seriously. What is that thing under the lamp? I'm thinking taxidermied llama. (But the lamp looks great!)

I LOVE this lamp. At first I didn't know that it wasn't purchased like this.

(Toy stuffed llama, I think...)

Pretty cool lamp idea! I can see endless variations, too.
