apartment therapy changing the world, one room at a time

Flickr Finds: Thoughts on thefarmersdaughter's Accent Wall?

011708accentwall.jpg"Thefarmersdaughter" has been busy (or rather, bored) and decided to paint an orange accent wall in her place. She posted an image of the part-orange room and wants to know what others think about the color.
Thoughts??

Like it. Great color.

Now hang the art to the left of the door on it.

Like it alot. Maybe moo-ve the cow and put that credenza up against the wall and hang art, as per P(too)'s advice.

Great job. It ties the space together in a sophisticated way, and it makes the Eames chair pop.

I like orange and brown together, nice! The place needs a cleanin' and a straightenin' up though.

thanks everyone - that's my room up there. That color is "paprika" from the Eddie Bauer line at Lowes. It was leftover from my office re do. I think I like it too, and I love the thought of putting the artwork from the left of the door on that wall (in a new frame though). I can't believe I didn't think of that Patrick!

There were notes on the Flicker photo that explained the desk against the door was moved there to paint the wall , and the crap on the table was moved there to paint. I normally am not that messy. Really.

I think a nice big white mat around the artwork would really set it and the orange wall off nicely once you move it over. Maybe with a narrow blond-wood frame?

really like it. my baby boy's room has a wall exactly that colour (the opposite wall is lime green, other two white!!!)
it's the kind of colour which adds warmth and cosiness to a room

Reminds me of my previous apartment, where I took inspiration from an Hermes box.

Great job! I fourth P(t.o.o.)'s suggestion to move the art to the newly orange wall. Perhaps a few more pieces wouldn't hurt? Maybe a cluster of mirrors?

It's simply begging for something to be hung against it!
