Taterpot Herb Planters

Here's something to lighten up your Wednesday afternoon. From the Japanese creators of the Eggling comes the second wave of novelty herb gardening: the Taterpot. These potato-shaped planters come prepackaged with mint, basil, or oregano seeds...

They're available in two shapes: the "slim" (available at Fred Flare for $14 each) and the "shorty" (available at ModCloth for $12 each). Their little legs are made from cord and wooden balls, perfect for dangling over a windowsill. If you like the idea, but don't want to spend $14 on a novelty planter, try dressing up your own pots with smiling faces a la Chris Uphues.

How are we supposed to know when something is adorable or if it's corny? I've seen these before and they don't cheer me up. Moderate amounts of anything like this are probably ok, but this one is not for me.

I've seen halloween themed versions of these, which were also very adorable.

my friend got me these- totally cute, but really hard to transfer out of the little pot into a real pot. (Mine died in transfer-sad).
But I am going to use them for other purposes- paperclip holder- whatnot holder.
The dangling legs get me
