• Plant them with succulents and keep them in a row on a windowsill or sink.
• At the dining room table, filled with tea lights, they make a great centerpiece.
• On a bathroom shelf, use them to hold Q-tips, cotton balls, clothespins, etc.
• Arrange them on a tray and use them to store jewelry or loose change.
• Use them as bud vases for small flowers.

I don't have a collection of liquor glasses, but I do have a big slice of my mother's black amethyst collection! Many of the pieces are small vases, dishes, and bowls- simply lovely- but they'd look even nicer with some of these ideas! I'd love to put them to use!

I love that picture and their use but I don't like rows of things because of cleaning. These would all need to be dusted and washed each week otherwise spider webs, and grit keeps it from looking nice. I use to hate my mom's curio cabinet with all her collections of things but now I am getting it most likely it only needed once a month dusting which I think I had to do.

Might I suggest you make this a regular feature ... taking a common item and then showing 5-10 additional uses for it?
These kind of posts pop up now and then and I think would benefit from a bit more prominence (i.e. what you do with labeling House Tour posts).

I did this with an old glass mug that says "DAD's" I picked up at a thrift shop. http://www.flickr.com/photos/askdzign/3718894015/in/set-72157615152097676/
Also, with two thrifted tea kettles. http://www.flickr.com/photos/askdzign/3718886331/in/set-72157615152097676/

I tried something like this but then my plants got soggy roots and everything went to down the drain. How does drainage get handled?

You could probably put some pebbles in the base first and then plant on top. That may help a bit to keep the roots from getting soggy. With something as small as a liquor glass, I'm not sure if there'd be room.

empty, you basically have to water everything with an eye dropper. I live in a hot climate, so bitty containers tend to dry out really fast for me. It might be more trouble than it's worth where you live.
I'm trying to cut back on tiny plantings (since I'm already addicted to putting things in tea cups) but this is cute too! Maybe I could find a few glasses for the bathroom goodies...

ill try watering less. I think I tend to overwater just because it's fun. I also started a tiny planter with a tube that goes all the way to the bottom, I'm hoping that will give the water something to evaporate through.

Funny - I JUST started doing this! I found a collection of ten cut chrystal cordial glasses at a flea market and now I line them up on a shelf in my bathrooom and float tiny flowers in them. The effect is so nice!
