091808-hangers2.jpg
Item: 10-Pack of Ditto Hangers
Designer: Green Heart Global
Retail Price:
$10

A few months ago we told you about Ditto hangers. Since then the people over at Green Heart Global have been busy little bees. Their hangers are being released for individual retail sale beginning in October. Our AT readers will have first dibs on picking up a pack as we have 10-pack hangers to give away to 3 lucky readers. Click through for more info and a chance to adorn your closet with this great product!

Ditto Hangers are designed to combat the waste created by hangers in the retail clothing world. Since their creation (which is a 2007 International Design Award winner), their product has been well received by non-toxic dry cleaners, green hospitality and is 100% recyclable in all recycling programs. Their designs are helping to reduce the billions of plastic and wire hangers sent to municipal landfills each year.

Good Luck to All and Thanks to Gary Barker for Green Heart Global!

I'd love to have these. I've been searching for hangers to replace my son's toddler hangers (he's now almost 9-- let that be an indication as to how long I've been looking) with ones that are A. not plastic or wire and ugly as sin and B. don't cost an arm and a leg. I think these fit the bill.

I personally recycle wire hangers by taking them back to the dry cleaner. They are always willing to take their hangers back. But these are still a nice idea, if you could actually get people to reuse and recycle them.

We try to recycle the hangers we receive from the dry cleaners, but somehow the dry cleaners in Chicago will only accept so many hangers ... I'd love to see these become the standard for the industry, and personal adoption of these would be a great first step towards ridding our landfill of this wasteful product.

I plan to buy them to distribute to my local dry cleaner in the hopes they will adopt them. Thanks!
