CHI Good Questions: A Budget-Friendly Loveseat Version of this Sofa?

An email from James: "Hello AT! I recently watched an Epson commercial on their website and saw a couch that I really loved. I have been looking around for it with no luck. Basically looking for a similar style, white, no arms, modern looking. The problem is, I also want it in budget friendly, loveseat form as it will be for my bedroom. Any ideas? Thanks!"

One option is this Aero Convertible Sofa from Chiasso ($898) - it is similar - armless, white, geometric with some tufting. It is also a flexible piece as it converts to a bed, but that means it might be larger than you want.

AT expert shoppers - any other ideas for James? Please let us know in the comments...

Looks like a Barcelona loveseat. There are different price points for these and of course that means quality varies widely. Just google Barcelona loveseat and you'll get lots of hits.

On the same wavelength as the Chiasso Aero, try the Encore Sofa from Room and Board. It is also convertable and has a luxe look. Better than the Aero, IMHO.

There's a store in LA called Blueprint that sells knock offs of things like this. I'm sure there's something in Chicago that is similar.

You may want to check around for a vintage steelcase loveseat. the lines are pretty similar to a Knoll, but for much, much less.

I picked up 2 a few years back from Broadway Antique Market for about $500 a piece, and the upholstery was in good condition.

also Modernica. it looks like their split-rail which they offer in a chrome or walnut frame with a variety of options. there is a store in chicago, too.

actually, Modernica isn't super "budgety"...but i'm pretty sure that is their sofa.

fyi. the modernica showroom in chicago is no more. i found this out when i went to get new panels for my eames desk that they make (which is incidentally way nicer than the one herman miller is putting out now, but that's a different thread). sadly they closed it and everything comes from los angeles now. but yeah, modernica is far from a budget shopping destination.

Not sure what the budget is but Target has a cute modern loveseat for about $500. Of course you get target quality... but is this loveseat for looks and clothes and cats, or will it get heavy sitting?

They used to have something that was exactly what you are looking for. Also try Chicago craigslist as I think I've seen something like that on one of the dealers ads.
