I am moving into a great loft with a really nice view out of windows that hit at bar height. I would love to have a table that I could use as a dining table from both a bar height, and regular dining height-for a crowd who would rather have their feet planted firmly on the ground! I don't know if it is still available but IKEA used to sell a motorized desk base with the Galant office series. It was pricy but came with a very good warranty and adjusted with the push of a button.

contact Michael Kulik for custom tables. i had him and his Bucktown/WP shop make custom tables for my loft office. they were VERY resonably priced and they completed the tables in a matter of days.

Ikea has a table under frame called the VIKA NYKIL for 40 dollars, that can be made into a low or high table....if you wanted to make it really high (its not met to stand tall) you could get a couple of them for extra security.

That's all I've found so far, there are quite a few variations on the coffee-to-dining table.
But not much out there for dining-to-pub style. Unless you're only seating two people at a cafe-style table.

My friends have this table and the matching chairs. Its exactly what she wants. Not cheap, but you will have this table forever.
