CHI Good Questions: Looking for a New Sofa...

2008-05-12-question.jpgTony sent us in a good question: "First let me say that I have recently become addicted to AT! I love the site. I am wondering if you know what sofa this is (shown above). Seems like I have seen it before but I cannot place it. I am looking for a modern sofa with clean lines costing $900 or less. I looked at the Corona at Macy's but it was a no go for my husband. Any ideas? Thanks!"

Ok, AT-ers, two part challenge:
1) Can anyone ID the sofa shown...and
2) Please give your suggestions for a modern, clean lined sofa costing $900 or less

Let Tony know in the comments...Thanks!

I would definitely check rooms to go if they have it in your area. My boyfriend and I got this fabulous green couch with the same lines that you're looking after for only 399. (link http://www.roomstogo.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=showItem&ipac_id=11404)

There are also other colors if you're not a huge green fan.

I'd love to know the answer to this, too. I'm within your same budge range, and aside from the color, that couch is EXACTLY what I'm looking for and is absolutely beautiful!

That sofa is very similar to my Rowe, which can be had for under $800 if you choose the lower-end fabrics:

Mine is 7 years old and has worn like iron. It's very comfy, too.

I would try Cassona—they carry stuff (including Rowe furniture) that looks similar to the couch you posted.

It's similar to the Eugene sofa from Room and Board:

But it's $949 and $999 for the 71" and 86", respectively. And it has an extra leg in the center which kind of bothers me.

It looks like the Finn, which is on the Roy's furniture website. Not sure about the maker. http://www.roysfurniturecompany.com/livingroom/sofas.html

Thank you for all the comments-now I have some options.
sam b: It does look like the Finn...how in the world did you find it on the Roy's site?

I just ordered the Corona Sofa from Macys. I've seen in on sale for $699 more than once, but even at full price, it's a good deal.
