Shannon, we'd go with a small round pedestal type table as a nightstand with this headboard, either something more mod for contrast or a vintage-y piece to echo the era.

AT readers, what do you suggest for Shannon? Ideas, specific suggestions and links welcome in the comments...

I agree something mod - not really as much for the contrast, but becaues the headboard is so heavy and ornate, it will not distract from it or overload the room. something small and clean that fits the size of the space (not shown) well. That headboard is really cool, too. Is it a twin? I like how thin it is.

It kinda depends on the space, but be inclined to go with a pedestal table on one side and a small dresser on the other side such as this one.

Lucite in the right scale and proportion would balance out the heaviness of the headboard and a touch of modern style

Look at the Premium Round Table - I have it next to a Caribbean Colonial bed. The lines are simple and the inlay work on the top could play off that in the headboard.http://arabiannights.ca/mosaic-furniture-catalog.html

I like the mod idea as well...I would opt maybe for a high gloss white table to contrast with the heavy wood.

Maybe the white ergo table from CB2?

Discovered your website about a month ago ... all I can say is WOW!! It's been super and has filled my head with ideas. With regard to this headboard, I'd go with natural wicker nightstands (not necessarily matching); perhaps with some built-in storage. Those might soften the heavy, dark wood.

i agree, round tables, duncan phye, style, you can find them at most antique shops, even at thrift shops or garage sales, they do not have to match exactly , as long as they are both round.
