Good Questions: Brocade Home Quality?

2007-08-08-brocade.jpg

Pauline sent an email: Looking for a traditional take the platform bed for our small bedroom. More like this. Does anyone know of any others? Has anyone bought any of the Brocade Home furniture? Quality?

We have NO experience with Brocade Home, so we are hoping someone can enlighten us all - can anyone give us their impression of the Brocade Home line? Or any other suggestions for more traditional bedframes for Pauline?

This topic keeps coming up. She should run searches on the ATs for previous threads.

I have that bed pictured and have really enjoyed it since Christmas time. It hasn't been put to a real "test" though. Strictly daily sleeping/lounging. Also, just rearranged the furniture and found to chips near one leg. I'm certain they weren't they when I received the bed so who knows how that happened.

Check my flickr for photos. And this previous thread on the topic for comments:

From a graphic designer's standpoint, they really missed the boat with me. Every catalog I have received has MAJOR oversights in printing/pagination. Case in point, the catalog sent out this very week, had half the catalog right side up and the last section upside down. The one before that had pages out of order (1, 2, 6, 4, 3....).

Quality control is certainly lacking on their print side, does this translate to the furniture side? I am not certain, but personally, I am not willing to take the chance.

hi..

i have purchased several things from brocade home over the past several months: white handcarved headboard and silhouette bedframe (which i love!), wallpaper print duvet, hourglass side table and clear moulin chandelier. i have to say that the catalog doesn't even do these things justice--they even look more beautiful in person and i couldn't be happier! my experience in getting my things was good and i highly recommend brocade as a brand!!

Brocade is part of Restoration Hardware...
that said, it doesn't mean the quality is the same but, it should come close like, Pottery Barn to it's Willimas Sonoma parent....

Part of the new catalog is printed upside down because that is a new line called Petit Boutique or something. It's different from the fall collection.

Printing upside down is typical for magazines and catalogs that are introducing a new book or special segment.

I'll take a closer look, I completely missed the point they were trying to make. Thanks, Lady J, for pointing that out.

That said, it is still a missed opportunity. If I didn't see that immediately and it wasn't clear, they have a problem. Personally, I will order from them after they have worked out the kinks.

From Lady J's and Velana117 experience - it sounds like they have a good thing going.

Meg B. it's a new line that they are trying to promote on the back of the catalog. I'm sure it's not a mistake

chris_94131 restoration hardware is utter crap so I'd be weary of brocade.
