Ken sent us an email: A friend of mine told me about your site some time ago and I look at it from time to time. I don't know if this is something you'd be interested in posting, but I have an antique stove I am looking to give away to anyone willing to move it....

Why not just call your local building supply reuse center? They'll gladly come and take it away for you.

A friend of mine just spent a small fortune for a similar stove.

Whoa, Ken! That's exactly the stove I need, and if it doesn't actually work, well, it's not a big deal, since I don't actually cook.

wow.... that stove is awesome! hope someone can find a home for you. I'd google re-stores and shops that re-sell and restore these types of stoves. They'd be likely to pick up and will probably even pay you something so... gravy.

There are places like this that might purchase it if you don't find a buyer.

Hi - I know someone who lives in a suburb of Chicago and who would be interested. I'll contact them and let you know through AT Chicago. Thanks!

If he can't find a taker here, he might consider posting it on freecycle.org

I spoke to my friend and she is going to have to pass on it. Sounds like you're the leading contender, magnaverde.

Hi All-
Thanks for your responses. I've tried a number of antique appliance dealers - none are interested. I am an active freecycler, but hoped to find someone here who might actually use it. Freecycle has been great for me for giving away smaller stuff, but for furniture and appliances, uh. . .not so much. All the reuse centers I contacted are primarily interested in building materials, if they handle appliances they want newer appliances that the owner can certify work, not stuff like this with primarily aesthetic appeal that may require some TLC.
So all that said, Mr or Ms Magnaverde, I need some way to reach you if you are in fact interested in this stove.
Thanks,
Ken

That stove is beautiful and in amazing cosmetic condition -- looks like it just needs a good cleaning. I think what might be scaring people off is that you don't know if it works or not.
