Vanessa is looking for some opinions: "I've been having a hard time finding affordable modern furniture with clean lines in the chicagoland area, that isn't hard as a rock. Plus I'm looking for a sectional, with silver metal trim instead of wood. I've been to all the usual local places (Domicile, CB2, West Elm, Roy's Furniture, Z Gallerie, etc.) without finding "the one".

Have you looked at Ikea?? the Tylosand has clean lines and silver metal trim as well. As long as you don't get the sofa bed, it is extremely comfortable. I have the sofa bed, and its firm, but still really comfortable - you just don't sink into it.

I recently purchased the Oregon Sofa from Dania furniture and i love it, the price was good too. it resembles a sofa i liked at Ikea, but Ikea's price was too high for me.
So far I'm happy with my purchase from Dania
A friend of mine also purchase a sofa and matching chair from Dania, she purchased the Toronto sofa and chair and is very happy with her furniture.

I have office furniture from Dania and it's not bad. Well-designed, and sturdy for RTA furniture. I don't have experience with their upholstery, though.

I've had my sofa (from Dania) for about two years now and it's still in the same shape as the first day I got it. Its held up really well (especially with 4 boys in the house)! I'd totally recommend them for couches.
That said, I have a bed frame from there that I wouldn't necessarily recommend. So, I think it depends on the piece that you buy.
Dania is much better quality than Ikea (when it comes to couches). Ikea is temporary, disposable furniture

Have you checked out Rubin's on Lincoln Ave, just north of Wellington?
I live across the street from it and I have to say they have a pretty nice selection. The price points vary

Hey! Half of my post got chopped off! What's up with that?

anyway, I was trying to say that I've seen some nice stuff over there. A lot of their stuff comes from lesser-known Italian makers, so the prices are not in the stratosphere.

Awesome feedback. I think I'll trek out to Lombard to Dania, and check out some of the other places too. I needed a sofa like yesterday.
The Oregon sectional looks pretty close to what I'm looking for. I hope it comes with more fabric options.. I found the another perfect sofa online, but there are no distributors/sellers in the area where I can test drive it. http://gingkofurniture.com/RebeccaSofa.htm
I'm also in love with this sofa, but I don't think I can swing the price tag. http://www.designpublic.com/shop/gus-design/4755
Anywho.. Thanks a mil.

I bought the Bristol Sofa they have at Dania about 6 months ago. It is the only smallish sectional we could find in our price range. The standard size seems to be about 20 inches longer, which would not fit in our living room.
It is pretty versatile, as it has simple lines, but we ordered it in brown, and it fits in well in our not so contemporary apt.
It is also very comfortable and we were assured that NHF has never had anyone complain about the quality.
We did not end up buying it from Dania, but from Northern Home Furnishings in Lincoln Square. They were able to give us a better price, and we felt better buying from a local store than from a west coast chain.

I've had a leather L-shaped couch from Dania for almost four years now and it has held up great. Definitely recommended.

I guess Dania goes by Plummers in my Southern California area. It's the exact same website, just different name. I'm also looking at the Oregon sofa; it looks really nice and about the same price I've found for similar couches on Craigslist, sometimes cheaper. I'm going to go give it a test drive.
