Good Questions: Good Fabric Store in Kansas City?

fabric110708.jpgJenny has a good question: For anyone in or around KC area - I am looking for a good fabric store. Not a national chain like Joann or Calico Corners, more like the fabric showrooms in Dallas or NY or SF where you go in and there are huge racks of rolled bolts everywhere. Mostly home dec type stuff.

(Note: Include a pic of your problem and your question gets posted first.

I've never been inside but there's a fabric store on the Plaza that has really pretty fabrics in their displays

Sarah's Fabrics on Massachusetts Street in Lawrence, KS, has always been a reliable haunt of mine.

Urban Arts and Crafts in Briarcliff is decent, but I second Sarah's Fabrics in Lawrence. It has an incredible selection and is more, I think, of what you are looking for.

Also, Harper's in downtown Overland Park has a small but nice selection of fabrics.

Sarah's in Lawrence.....ahh, such goodness...the best in KC in my opinion.

When I walked in, I thought I was in heaven! That place makes me want to learn to sew again! Once comes school break, I will take some classes.
