Good Questions: ID this Furniture?

2007-04-04-orange.jpg Calling all furniture and film fans: Can someone kindly tell me where I can find me a chair (sofa?) like the ones in this picture? It's from a Swedish movie from the 70s, if that helps.
Thanks, Eugene

2007-04-04-panton.jpg We immediately thought of the "Fun" chairs (1963, shown at right) by Verner Panton when we saw the image that Eugene sent in, but it is definitely not a match.

We did a bit more (unsuccessful, but fun) research and now are turning over the chair ID to all of you.

Hope someone can solve the mystery!

I want to run home right now and look this up in my "1000" chairs book! Unfortunately I should really stay and finish my work - but believe me, it will be the first thing I do when I get home - I'll let you know if they are in there...

Very similar chairs were originally produced in the 60s and designed by Olivier Mourgue (I could have just mangled that spelling and I apologize). I believe you can still get them through the usual MCM furniture stores. They were featured in the Kubrick film 2001 and are very orange and very fantastic.

The chair is called Etcetera and was designed by Jan Ekselius in 1972. There's also a lounge chair under the same name by the same designer.

The image on that page is of the lounge chair. Download the PDF catalogue to see the easy chair (2nd page).
