Good Questions: Identify these Danish Modern Chairs?

chairquestion010609.JPGNicole is looking for some info: Living in Chicago we recently purchased this pair of Danish Modern Chairs, a great EBay find we picked up in Indiana. There are no markings besides "Made in Denmark"...

The chairs are made beautifully and we would love to find out more about them, but the original straps have been replaced, which could have possibly contained more information. If anyone could help us identify these chairs we would appreciate any information.

Any ideas for Nicole? Please let us know in the comments...thanks!

I can't say for certain (there were so many similar chairs made in Denmark), but the lines of the back make me think this may be a Peter Hvidt design for Selig.

What's unusual to me is the angle of the back legs -- similar to the chairs Poul Jensen did for Selig, but the arms are completely different.

They could be anonymous design, there are many unknown creators for that period.

It looks like it may have been inspired by Hans Wegner to me.

I used to own what I think is the same chair (same angle on the legs) and it was all original, but it didn't have any markings. A friend in the MCM furniture business said she thought it was made by Selig. It was a great, solid and comfortable chair -- I just didn't have room for it with my chair addiction.

Not much help here, but it does look somewhat like my own Selig chair. Here are mine for reference. The legs don't jut out at quite that angle, but the back and the arms are almost the same.
