I'm interested to hear what people have to say about this piece, too. I love the look; in fact, considered buying it, but ended up going with a Gus (with tufted seating surface) because I figured the Couchoid would develop ass-prints over time.

I sat on the Couchoid at the Dwell on Design show in SF. unfortunately, it was not that comfortable. A shame...as I'm a huge fan of Blu Dot.

Although I haven't laid cheek to that particular sofa, I did have white canvas furniture in NYC for a very long time.
It got dirty just from NYC air!
But, I loved it. Accordingly, I served no colored beverages or food, and found that cut way down on cleaning.
Owning white is a challenge which depends on your commitment to white.
I was highly committed.
Boring, but true.

Depending on the type, leather alternative can be easier to maintain and more durable than real leather. In fact, if you are going to go with a white couch, its probably the best choice. The real question is how realistic is the faux leather and how does it feel? Some are virtually identical to the real deal - others feel like plastic. Swatches from BluDot or your furniture dealer should clear that up.

we have a white/beige couch as well. Fortunately the cover comes off (with great difficultly) but we launder it with Oxyclean (this stuff is amazing). The final product is a sparkling new couch everytime.

Like Momma, we only serve clear drinks and colored food and beverages are not permitted any where near it. No feet on the couch and we restrict people wearing denim - denim rubs off due to the acid washes.

Was it worth it? Absolutely! Its the most comfortable and a stunning piece. If you want to own a white couch, make sure it is one that is a significant piece that is a conversation starter, not a mass produced generic piece.

The Walker Art Center in Minneapolis has several of these in a lobby area (in white, no less). I think the sofa is comfortable. Adding a pillow or two wouldn't hurt given the low arm, though.

Friend of mine just got one of these, and I've had the chance to check it out. Here are my impressions: comfortable if you're not a stickler for posture, but not in the "sink-into-the-cushions" sort of way, but more so then you would think just looking at it. The low arms makes it difficult to lean, and I ended up lounging on a propped up elbow with my feet up (and didn't get yelled at). Faux leather was of good quality, and breathable - I would've picked the fabric even if real leather was an option. It also has no seams, making cleaning easier.

Why oh why does anyone need an aerodynamic couch?!

YES, it is comfortable, i've had mine for a couple months now and love it.
