Good Questions: Lamp Shopping...Suggestions Wanted

lampquestion010909.jpgErin writes: Hi AT! I was all set to purchase this sphere lamp from West Elm and it ended up being sold out. I was really interested in the transparent one on the left and have searched high and low for something similar. I suppose I could do the CB2 Phantom Lamp if all else fails, but I was mostly attracted to the colored glass base on this one...

Although I've found a couple of similar ones online, I am hoping to find something a little bit closer to my budget- about $150 or less. Any suggestions?

Please let Erin know what alternatives you suggest in the comments below...thanks!

check out mitchell gold bob williams lighting at www.mg-bw.com. they can be expensive, but when they have a sale they're not!

also, www.shopshinehome.com has some interesting lamps.

This isn't quite the same but it does look like it has colored glass in the base and a white shade.

Simular lamps are now appearing at Target in the new accessories area at the rear of the store, I saw them yesterday at my area Target.

I just purchased the chrome version of this lamp, shown on the right side of the photo. It is really great. If you didn't have your heart set on the glass version, I highly recommend giving this lamp a try.
