Good Questions: Looking for IKEA Hedvig Fabric

hedvig110708.jpgHeidi sent us an email: I tried a few IKEA stores to look for the HEDVIG fabric - the one that is black with yellow, pink, and orange flowers. Those stores do not have this particular fabric in stock!

I do not want to call other stores because they usually hang up or put you on hold and give you the run-around. I need to find this certain fabric. Hope you can help!

Any suggestions for Heidi on where to find the Hedvig fabric? Let us know in the comments...

I believe that there is a function on the Ikea website that allows you to check the stock of stores (I used it when I was looking for a particular set of shelves).

I thought I was the only one trying to find certain fabric from ikea. Schaumburg has been out of the katrin fabric (black with white silhouetted branches) for months now. I saw it in the catalog, went on the road trip (for other stops as well) and found they were out. Except it said on the website that they had it (probably the other katrin versions). :(

I have the same problem with Pernilla fabric, which I want badly... It was in the stock for a very short time here (compared to other kinds of fabric). I have no idea why they discontinued it, as it was quite popular. It´s not on the web site, so I guess that means they will never have it again.

Heidi, are you, um, starting a gym? http://www.realestate.com.au/cgi-bin/rsearch?a=depi&id=105335664&width=800&height=600&img=j&c=26415&p=30&s=wa&snf=ras&t=res&tm=1225887592

i've also been looking for the Katrin branch fabric for months as well and i've never seen it in the store. the people who worked there explained to me that they restock the whole collection at one time. so they won't get that Hedvig fabric back in until all the rest of the Hedvig fabrics are sold out. in my case, they told me that the Katrin brach fabric goes really quickly when it does come in, so i've pretty much given up hoping for it.

chi_cass : the tracker on the website only shows if they have that collection in stock, but not which individual fabrics they have.

Add me to the list of people who spent months trying to track down the Katrin branch fabric. I finally succeeded in getting it at the Brooklyn Ikea on opening day, but unless you happen to have a new Ikea opening near you soon that's probably not a very helpful solution.

Are there designated days of the week/month when Ikea restocks, so you could at least try to up your chances of being there the day when that fabric line is finally reordered?

If you click on the link the the house listing there is a funny picture featuring the fabric.

Funny blog!

Also you might check ebay for the fabric or post something to their Want It Now page.
