Good Questions: No-Wait Chairs to Go with Cherner Table?

cherner112508.jpgSandra is looking for some suggestions: I finally purchased my new dining room table, a floor sample Cherner 48 inch round walnut table. I need to find some affordable, comfortable, in-stock (no 6-8 week wait) dining room chairs to go with it...

I had ordered chairs from overstock.com but they were damaged upon arrival and not great quality so I returned them. I love Cherner and Risom side chairs but can't wait 8 weeks for delivery as I need something to sit on within the next 2 weeks. Until then we'll be eating on the sofa.

I've searched Denver craigslist, ebay, firstdibs, and several big box stores but nothing yet. Any ideas?

Please share your suggestions for Sandra in the comments...thanks!

I'd pair it with something that counter balances it, such as, http://www.dwr.com/product/furniture/dining/chairs/victoria-ghost-side-chair.do?sortby=ourPicks

I don't understand - You're going to have these chairs for the next 10, 20, maybe 30 years but you're not going to get exactly what you want because you're not willing to wait a few weeks for delivery?

IMHO - Order exactly the chairs what you want and eat Thanksgiving dinner on floor pillows arranged around the coffee table. For the next 30 years, you'll be thankful you did.

How about cb2? Not sure how fast they ship, but I know they carry stuff in stock in the store in Chicago, so it can probably get to you in Denver pretty quickly. I have the window seat chair and I've been pretty pleased with it's quality.

Also these from West Elm could be nice... in any of the finishes. http://www.westelm.com/online/store/ProductDisplay?partNumber=WE-PRODf785&storeId=17001&langId=-1&catalogId=17002&viewSetCode=E&parentId=WE-SH1FRNDIB&retainNav=true&cmsrc=WE-SH1FRNDIB

Also with overstock, their stuff comes from a variety of different sources. Some stuff turns out to be sort of crappy, like you experienced, others turn out to be pretty good. So if you see something there that you like w/ good reviews, go for it.

One more... my personal favorite, which I think could look cool with your table. Not sure if $230 per chair constitutes "affordable" though... I know that's the reason I don't have them! http://www.dwr.com/product/furniture/dining/chairs/b-pop-side-chair-laminate.do?sortby=ourPicks

Thanks for all the great ideas!

Astump, I've emailed the administrator to request deletion of your response. It's sad that you can't reply with anything useful.

i love those oval back chairs from west elm that Juliejulezzzzz linked too!!! not exactly like the cherner chairs, but the curves remind me of them.

I agree with bepsf. I would wait it out and get something you really like. You will be happy you did in the long run.

Thanks Kouklah and bepsf. I think you're right. I'll find something really cheap (craigslist or garage sale) so my parents can eat at a table for the holidays then save up for the ones I love which are the Cherners.

Does anyone know if the Cherner chairs are comfortable for long periods of sitting? I'm thinking about Stella Orange or Walnut a seat pad if it would help make it more comfy.

you people should be ashamed of yourselves. I recommend you hang yourselves before the holidays.
