Good Questions: Places for Custom Lamp Shades and Furniture Repair?

Hi all,

I am wondering if anyone can recommend places--with good service and high standards--on the north side of Chicago for custom lamp shades (with selections of fabrics/papers, textures, sizes) and furniture repair (for some teak dining chairs that are a bit old, creaky, and wobbly).

I realize this question is old, but A Lamp & Fixture Shoppe at 3191 N. Elston, 773-866-0220 will do custom shades for you.
I had two lamps rewired there and bought two new shades last Friday (not custom) and they are very helpful. I love the new shades that I bought.
