Good Questions: Small Space Designers?

082906spacelayout.jpgDear AT,

Know of any interior designers or students that specialize in small apartments/condo that are 650sq feet or under?

Thanks,
Sherrice

Sherrice,

There must be a lot of advice out there in AT land with your name all over it! And we know there are a few interior design students who are avid AT readers (Hey, Harrington School of Design...).

Hey, that's me!

I'm currently attending Harrington and am very used to working with small spaces, as I have been living in studio apartments for the most part. I'm finally in a one-bedroom...but the one-bedroom is not mine. My bedroom is basically a large walk-in closet. But I somehow managed to fit my stuff in, and my roommate said, "You have made the best use of this space of any of my previous roommates. You actually have floor space! Unheard of!"

So uh, if you need any tips or advice, I'd be more than happy to give! gretchenm47 AT gmail DOT com

I am also a Harrington student and actually prefer smaller spaces (as like Gretchen - that is what I live in and therefore have the most experience with). I am not sure what you are looking for or to what detail, but I would be glad to help with anything I can or if you just have some questions about storage solutions or multi-use furniture solutions. You can contact me at marenamelia@yahoo.com. We are both on break this week so would be a great time if you need help or have questions!

Hi Sherrice,
I'm a practicing interior designer with a degree in architecture. I am very interested in working on small space design. I have personally never lived in a space over about 600sf; in fact, my very first apartment by myself was 180sf. My rates are low for a professional designer--it is a labor of love! Lets chat more, I'd love to hear your thoughts about your project.
