Good Questions: Whatever happened to "abn"?

Dear AT:
I moved from Chicago several years ago, but am back periodically for visits. One of my favorite vintage/eclectic stores was ABN (?) on Milwaukee, south of North Av. They aren't at that location now-- anyone know if they re-opened elsewhere?

We remember abn - it was a really good store! It has been a while since it has been open at that location on Milwaukee - we think it may have closed around 2001 and have a vague recollection that the owners were sisters (and were moving to NY?). The old address was 1472 N. Milwaukee. We'd love to find out what the abn folks are up to now... Anyone have any leads?

Could you be thinking of ABT electronics? I can't recall if they had a store on Milwaukee but the name is close.

I am friendly with the ABN girls. I never got to go to the store, but I know them now and see all the artistic things they are up to and I regret that I missed ABN.
The younger is a visual decorator at a larger boutique retail store and the elder is an interior decorator and just started doing some work with Chicago magazine Home.
I think there is some hope for another store in the future, but not to soon.

Leaving Chicago for New York? No way!

I got the "sisters" half of the story correct anyway. I'm not sure how I even remembered that!

Let them know we were thinking about their old shop, and missing it...
