Dear AT,
So I am looking for a bathroom vanity on fairly short notice (like, a week) because the one I ordered weeks ago is not a proper fit for the space it will be in. This is the kind of thing you'd like to find out before you try to install it, but life is an adventure...
I have tried the standbys: Great Indoors, Expo, Lowes, Menards, Home Depot, and I can't quite find what I need in stock, which is double-bowl stone-top 60", fairly stylish in the modern vein. Is this fruitless? Should I order something and then pay the plumber to come back in a month? Any ideas (or even offers) would be eagerly accepted.
Thanks - love the blog.

What about Max Gerber on Milwaukee and California?
Update- I'm having a top fabricated from a remnant piece- 60" is apparently a good size for this. I got a nice stone and I am crossing my fingers that it will still be nice when I pick it up.
I am still in need of a cabinet that rocks- I have sourced a backup but I am not thrilled with it.
I haven't tried Max Gerber yet but I will check it out.
Don't you need the cabinet first, so you know what size the top should be?
I am constrained by the size of the space- and it appears that 60 x 21 is a fairly common cabinet size, so I ordered a 61 x 22 top. I also have some skilled carpenters onsite so fitting a smaller cabinet to a larger top (within reason) is not such a big deal. My backup cabinet is 60 x 21.
I am becoming resigned to it, it's not so bad :)
Have you tried Community Home Supply Co. 3924 N Lincoln Ave Chicago, IL(773) 281-7010?
