Q: My house (larger photo below) is white siding with grey trim. I am planning to replace the siding on the first level with stone to match the stone porch step riser. I can't change the grey trim, but I am going to get a new roof.

DEEP DARK PURPLE! I absolutely love a rich dark purple with light stone.

Any shade of green. Kelly green for something traditional, sage green for something soft, forest green for something earthy, kiwi green for something modern. Go green.

Black shutters, and a beautiful deep red door.

I'm confused -
Why would one put stone facing on just the lower half of a Colonial?
Please - no more "Disneyland Colonials" with brick and divided-lite windows w/ shutters on the front and beige vinyl siding & plain windows without shutters on the other 3 sides...
Either do it all or don't do it at all.

dark teal shutters, semi-glossy black door.

I'm distracted by the idea of your bottom level becoming a giant crazy paving Don't. I can't imagine that looking better than what is there now. No amount of shutters and trim will fix that?

I agree with Jasmine. Black red front door. Also I would keep the white siding on the lower level. The stone will make the porch look dark and gloomy. You have a cute house that doesn't need faux stone work. It's very nice as is. Show us pictures when you're done.

That's really a lovely house! Deep purple as someone suggest above... or lilac would suit, I think. Any colour in the category of purple is likely to match with the grey trim. Having the same or similar colour of the front door as that of both sides of the windows on the upper level (as the picture shows - purple) would make the whole house look in balance and help increase the value of the house for sure.

I agree with everyone suggesting the stone facade isn't necessary. It looks like your roof is light brown now. If you're changing it, I would suggest going for grey (or black) shingles. And then I would go with the suggestion made by a few people here to paint the shutters black and make your door pop. Either with red as many have suggested already, or you could go with an historic yellow.

Wow! Check out that house!
Leave the siding on the bottom as-is. Black shutters, red door. Yum!

really like the suggested ideas of red or purple door as well as historic yellow. & please as also suggested above don't go with the stone facade unless you go all the way. bepsf is right--disneyland architecture does this to give it a postmodern feel, showing that the facade is merely a facade. you don't want to do this to your house.

Take a look at Ralph Lauren Urban Loft color "Hudson" for the shutters dark, almost Black and Benjamin Moore Affinity color "Tumeric" it's a wonderful modern yellow.
Love your house please, I agree with bepsf, don't go with a stone facade.

Ditto, to no stone. I think shuttters in a deep charcoal/almost black and yellow door would look GREAT.
