"How wonderful yellow is. It stands for the sun." - Vincent Van Gogh
"It is the color closest to light. In its utmost purity it always implies the nature of brightness and has a cheerful, serene, gently stimulating character. Hence, experience teaches us that yellow makes a thoroughly warm and comforting impression." - Johann Wolfgang Goethe

actually - any insight on where i can find some budget-friendly egg yolk yellow curtains for my grey dining room? I have searched high and low for weeks and I am at a loss. I even defaulted to jcpenneys and walmart out of sheer desperation...
you would think with the recent love for all things yellow, SOMEONE SOMEWHERE would think to make yellow curtains?!

I'm not sure if you sew (or know someone who would help you), but IKEA has two choices that are a very nice yellow, katrin and lenda, respectively.
Also, if you want something a little bit heavier or ornate, since I don't know your decorating style, I'd check out fabricguru.com for large yardages of fabric. Currently they have two fabric choices (infused with white embroidery or damask):

Also, here's a sateen fabric:

Depending on the length that you're looking for, one 50" x 108" panel is only 3 yards of fabric that is assuming that you use 54" wide fabric.
